Our Story
Josi & Daniel
Daniel and Josiene met on OKCupid on October 3rd, 2025, quickly exchanged contact information, and began messaging each other on WhatsApp on October 4th, 2025. On October 9, 2025, Daniel already bought a plane ticket to Brazil to see Josiene -- and without even having a video call yet!
But the video calls would come... lots of them, and lots of messages too.
Soon it was time for the trip to Brazil, where they would finally meet face to face in Brusque, the city were Josiene was working. Daniel stayed at the Hotel Monthez that city, and for 3 solid days the two of them were inseparable, visiting the zoo, the Madre Paulina Museum, Brazil's famous department store, Havan, and dancing the night away and Daniel taught Josiene how to do Salsa and Bachata. Alas, November 4th rolled around far too quickly and it was time for Daniel to go home.
However, the WhatsApp messages and calls continued, and soon Daniel found himself booking another flight. This was a longer stay in Brazil - January 16th, 2026 through March 8th, 2026, including travel days. The extended time together proved what they already knew: they never wanted to be apart.
So, after a trip to meet Josiene's family, lots of mini-trips to the local supermarket, ice cream runs, moving apartments, visiting Balneário Camboriú, and other adventures, Daniel proposed marriage to Josiene on February 22nd, 2026, on the beach in Bombinhas, and she said yes!
Eventually March 8th rolled around and Daniel was back in the US... and it was time to start the long but joyful journey of seeking the promised land: a fiancé visa for Josiene!

2026-01-30: Daniel and Josiene fly from Navegantes to João Pessoa to spend time with Josiene's family
2026-02-22: Daniel and Josiene get engaged
2026-03-07: Daniel heads back home to the USA with fiancé visa plans in mind
